We’re going to fix that. To complete this How-To you will need: Patience Paper and pen And time to shop Step 1: Consider plasmas Consider the two types of flat-screen TVs: plasma and LCD. Plasma screens are larger and provide a more vivid picture, and are easily viewed from different angles. Tip: On the other hand, still images — such as network logos — can “burn in,” or become permanently visible, on some plasmas, though that’s becoming less of a problem. Step 2: Consider LCDs Now weigh the merits of the LCD. It’s lighter and less fragile than a plasma, uses less electricity, is easier to install, and there’s no danger of burn-in. But the LCD picture is also less vivid. A good general rule of thumb is if you are looking for less then a 50-inch screen, then go with LCDs. Step 3: Consider resolution Consider if you want to pay for a higher resolution — that is, a sharper picture than what comes standard with a plasma or LCD. There are several upgrades. Step 4: Comparison shop Once you’ve decided what you want, its time to comparison shop, either in person at your local electronics store or online. Compare TVs

A wall mount frees up space and adds an elegant, stylish look to your home. Learn how you can install a wall mount for your television yourself.

Watch how easy is to make this clever coverup for your big screen tv. Pick two panels, and mount them to hang in front of the tv using the hardware and track of a sliding door. Start by measuring the height of your panels. Measure from the top of your mantle to the ceiling, subtracting a few inches for clearance. Then measure how wide your tv is. Divide that measurement in two and add a couple of inches. That’ll be the minimum width of each of your panels. It’s important you make sure your track is long enough to accommodate your panels when they’re in the open position. The total length of track should be at least double the total width of your panels. Now measure the depth of your tv and it’s wall-mount bracket. Add an inch or so to give you a little breathing room. That measurement determines how far out from the wall you will mount the track to the ceiling. Mark your centerpoint, the depth you determined, and attach the track. Attach the slider hardware to your panels and hang each panel on the track. You can change this project up to fit your own style, and turn your panels into your own personal works of art. Green Roof Panel Installation

More at www.greengarage.ca Finally the roof is green! First we put down overlapping layers of landscape fabric to protect the TPO membrane. Then, with the help of a Zoom Boom, we raised the 40 panels onto the roof and spread them out in temporary locations. We put down the first two sides at 90 degrees, and then worked our way back diagonally, fastening the panels together as we went. The top row needed to be trimmed so we did that (on the ground, not seen) with a circular saw fitted with a masonry blade. A few good soaks with the sprinkler over the next few days and a bit of replanting some bare sections is all it needs now!
